We’ve all gone through it…will do so again and again. As long as we are committed to change, committed to growth, we will encounter those who will not understand the “new” us. For not only do we fear to change our ways, we might fear the reactions of those we care about even more so.
To stay committed to our goals will take an enormous amount of intent and faith. It will take communication with our inner self, with our guides and with those we trust to nurture and support our journey, whether a professional or a friend.
We will need to find ourselves a sturdy suit of armour and a full-length mirror too. There will be barbs thrown our way, intentionally or not, but they will hurt just the same. The mirror…well that is for us to take a good long look at ourselves when we start on the next leg of our journey and for us to check in on our progress. A word of caution…only look at yourself with kindly eyes…be honest, but be gentle.
It is so easy to fall back into old and accepted, even expected, ways when we are challenged, especially when we are challenged by those closest to us. Each and every time that a questioning look or word comes your way you will need to remind yourself of your purest intent. Yes, you are different. Yes, it makes them uncomfortable. And yes, you might even lose some people in your life along the way. It is sometimes a long and tough journey to finding what works for you.
The key to success?
There are many doorways with many keys …. what works for one might not work for you. This is the hardest part…the knowing what is right for you…. just keep moving. You will make mistakes, it’s inevitable for you see things as others do…with limited eyes. We are human. Remember that too….
Good luck and be kind…. Namaste,
