This past week I have had the privilege of attending two mediumship workshops given by Karen Willis from the UK and I wish to share with you what I feel is the true “gift” of mediumship.
I’ve been chastised recently by some of my spirit guides for referring to my psychic and mediumship abilities as “gifts” from Spirit, gifts that I feel blessed to have “received.” I catch myself now when I start to use the word “gift” as I’ve been advised that these are abilities that have been earned, not gifted. Earned through out my lifetimes and fine tuned in this one through lots of committed hard work.
Working with the spirit realm is an honour and an ongoing learning experience; one that I find to be very rewarding. Up until now, my work with the tarot has made use of my psychic abilities and this branching out into the delivering of proof of the continuance of life through mediumship has opened a whole new world to me. Over the past year, I have participated in classes and home circles where I have learned how to listen to spirit and have practiced giving messages. This week, with Karen, I have learned how to work with spirits to create a tangible message, one conveyed through art.
Spirits will use any means they can to let us know that they are out there waiting to connect with us when we are ready and willing. In an earlier article, Speak to me through song, I mentioned the way in which my husband communicates to me through the use of song titles and I’ve experienced wonderful connections through another art medium, that of paint blending done by Beverly Stephan whereby my husband and dog love to come through on a regular basis!
I am so very grateful to be part of such an amazing community of like-minded souls where I continue to grow in my spirituality and in my talents working for Spirit. To see the look of amazement, the smile of recognition, or the tears of remembrance come through the connection to a loved one who has passed from this world is, as they say ”priceless.” This to me is the true “gift” of mediumship….the gift of re-connection to those who have never really left us at all……
