When I announced to my family and friends that I was about to share my spiritual journey online I knew that I would receive a variety of reactions. Admitting that you are a Spiritualist and into metaphysical pursuits is somewhat like coming out of the closet. What we don’t understand as humans, we tend to fear. I know when I started my journey over 20 years ago, I too was leery. Spirits, ghosts, angels…weird. Spirit is patient and when you are ready the teacher will indeed appear.
When I was ready for “stage one”, I was guided to a psychic who worked with me regularly for a period of three years. I learned the tarot as a self-development tool and used Angel cards for words of wisdom for the day. I attended psychic development classes and learned about the law of attraction.
It is way too easy to believe that because a person has a business card, a website or whatever, that they are credible and always accurate. Cults quickly come to mind and they are attractive to those feeling lost and who are looking for answers and direction. Credible persons will always stress that this is your individual and unique journey and that you are the captain of your own ship! Yes, reach out to learn from whomever you can but, just like researching on the Internet, just because it is “written” doesn’t mean it is for you or to be taken at face value.
Being claircognizant (clear knowing) has helped me to know who to trust and who to “take with a grain of salt” so I’ve been fortunate in not being misled but if you are unsure of someone or something, research before you act.
The most important aspect of following any new path or belief is to know that you will need to follow safe practices, especially when journeying into yourself – after all, this is indeed an intimate journey and protection is vital! Make sure it feels right for you. There is lots of great information that Fabien has put together on i-spirit.ca so please take some time to read through this great resource!
We have become a society full of fear; fear of germs, our governments, of just about anything yet how easy it is to be gullible when it comes to things spiritual! We tend to look for easy answers, to follow someone else’s lead so we don’t have to do the hard work ourselves. On the flip side, closing your mind to messages from Spirit can be a way of denying that part of ourselves that cries to be heard.
Gullible or guidable, let it be your educated choice.
If you say “gullible” slowly it sounds like “oranges”
